Keep the clock nearby.

A quiet, resizable Alethaxis window on your computer, or one tap away on your phone. The compact clock keeps the subtle animation, follows your system’s light or dark appearance, and checks the public feed while it is open and visible.

Open compact clock

Use your browser’s install option or the instructions below.

Windows

  1. Open the compact clock in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
  2. Use the browser’s Install app option. In Edge, it is also under the menu’s Apps section.
  3. Open Alethaxis from Start or pin it to your taskbar. Resize its window to sit beside your work.

This is a separate app window. A Windows Widgets board version and an always-on-top desktop window are planned separately.

Mac

  1. Open the compact clock in Safari on macOS Sonoma 14 or later.
  2. Choose File → Add to Dock, then Add.
  3. Open Alethaxis from the Dock and resize its window.

Chrome and Edge also support installing the web app. A native macOS desktop widget is planned separately.

iPhone & iPad

  1. Open the compact clock in Safari.
  2. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
  3. Leave Open as Web App enabled if that option appears, then tap Add.

The home-screen icon opens the live clock. It does not display a live clock inside the icon or on your lock screen.

Android

  1. Open the compact clock in Chrome.
  2. Open the browser menu and choose Add to Home screen → Install, or Install app, as offered.
  3. Tap the Alethaxis icon to open the clock.

On browsers that offer only a shortcut, that shortcut opens the website. Native home-screen and supported lock-screen widgets are planned separately.

Your view follows your account.

Log in using the sun on the clock. Observer, Analyst, and Sentinel access—including complimentary accounts at those levels—keeps your saved orientation and back-side preference. Free access uses the northern hemisphere with deviations in both directions. An installed app may require its own login.

Internet access is required for current data. A connection notice identifies an interrupted feed; reopening offline shows a reconnect screen. The app does not download your account pages for offline use.

Native widgets: next stage

We are planning a clock you can place directly on a Mac desktop, in the Windows Widgets board, and on phone home screens. iPhone lock-screen widgets use a simplified presentation; Android lock-screen support depends on the device and operating system.

These widgets will show a periodically refreshed view with its update time. Tap to open the animated clock. Refresh timing is controlled partly by the operating system, so native widgets cannot promise the website’s five-second refresh interval.
